4-Amino-5-hydroxy-2,7-naphthalenedisulfonic acid (4-AHNDS) is a hydroxyl group and nitrogen containing molecule. It is a reactive compound that can be used to extract anions from water. 4-AHNDS has been shown to react with sodium ions in the presence of water, forming a salt that is soluble in water.
