Product Information
Name:C.I.Azoic Coupling Component 11
Brand:Biosynth
Description:C.I.Azoic Coupling Component 11 is a yellowish colourant that is used in the dyeing of textiles, paints, and plastics. It is produced by coupling aniline with an azobenzene compound in the presence of a strong base, such as sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide. The reaction produces azoic coupling component 11 and sodium chloride or potassium chloride as byproducts. The methoxyl group on the aromatic ring of C.I.Azoic Coupling Component 11 is responsible for its colouring properties, which are due to an electron-withdrawing effect on the ring. This effect causes electrons to be passed from one atom to another around the ring, leading to an increase in electron density at the ring atoms and thus a shift in energy levels between HOMO and LUMO orbitals. Halogens also contribute to this colour change by reacting with the methoxyl groups on C.I.Azoic
