o-Arsanilic acid is similar to p-arsanilic acid (once widely used to treat trypanosomiasis). o-Arsanilic acid use, however, has a different application nowadays - it is used for the determination of arsenic levels, particularly in urine. Another interesting application of o-arsanilic acid is to track the binding of labeled anti-cross-reactive idiotype(CRI) preparations to a CRI+ hybridoma proteins.
