Product Information
- Benzaldehyde, 2-Amino-3-Fluoro-
- 2-Amino-3-Fluorobenzaldehyde
2-Amino-3-fluorobenzaldehyde is an aromatic compound that is a pyridine derivative. It can be synthesized by the formylation of 2-aminophenol with formic acid and hydrochloric acid, followed by the condensation with hydrocyanic acid, which leads to its formation. This compound is used as a raw material for the synthesis of various heterocyclic compounds such as anilines, quinolines, and indoles. 2-Amino-3-fluorobenzaldehyde has been shown to react with malonate esters in a regiospecific manner to produce cyclopentane derivatives. It also reacts with chloroformates in the presence of sodium acetate in ethanol to produce 3-chlorooxindole derivatives. The carbonyl group present in this compound can be converted into a cyano group by reaction with cyanide in ammonia solution at low temperatures.
