Acetyl-D-valine is an amino acid that is naturally produced by the human body. Acetyl-D-valine has been shown to inhibit bacterial enzyme activities, such as racemase and sephadex g-100. Acetyl-D-valine may be used in the treatment of bacterial infections caused by Stenotrophomonas maltophilia. It has also been shown to have a high detection sensitivity which can be used to detect other bacteria that are not sensitive to antibiotics. The linear regression analysis showed that acetyl-D-valine inhibited microbial growth in a dose dependent manner with an IC50 value of 2 mM.
