    Product Information

    Name:Ala-Ser-OH
    Synonyms:
    • L-Alanyl-L-serine
    Brand:Biosynth
Description:Ala-Ser-OH is an amino acid with a hydroxyl group on the alpha carbon. It is also known as serine hydroxamate. Serine hydroxamate is found in proteins that are involved in membrane transport and metabolism of various substances. The most common form of this amino acid is L-serine hydroxamate. Ala-Ser-OH can be found in human monoclonal antibodies, where it binds to the antigen on the surface of cells. The hydrogen bond between the OH group and NH groups stabilizes the molecule, which has two conformations. In one conformation, the OH group points upward and can bind to other molecules or ions; in another conformation, it points downward and interacts with water molecules or protons (H+). The protonated form has a stronger affinity for water than for other molecules or ions. When Ala-Ser-OH is placed in a solution of water at pH 7, its protonated form
