L-allo-Threoninol is a cyclic peptide that has inhibitory properties on human serum. It inhibits the replication of DNA by binding to the template strand and blocking the enzyme's action. L-allo-Threoninol also has antimicrobial activity against bacteria and fungi, which may be due to its ability to form disulfide bonds with fatty acids in the cell membrane. L-allo-Threoninol has been shown to inhibit dna duplex formation in many different ways, including inhibition of enzymes involved in DNA synthesis, inhibition of dna topoisomerase II, or destruction of the internalization assay.
