It has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which help to relieve symptoms of oral mucositis caused by steroids. In addition it has been shown to prevent the development of lymphoblastic leukemia in mice. L-Asparagine methyl ester hydrochloride inhibits the growth of cancer cells through its effects on lymphocytes and lymphoblasts.
