Product Information
- 4-Ethoxy-2-aminopyridine4-Ethoxy-pyridin-2-ylamine
- 2-Pyridinamine, 4-ethoxy-
- 4-Ethoxypyridin-2-amine
2-Amino-4-ethoxypyridine is an analog of the piperidide. It is a byproduct of the reaction between 4-iodopyridine and amine, where an amide results. 2-Amino-4-ethoxypyridine has been shown to inhibit nucleotide synthesis by binding to the NS5B polymerase. This inhibition leads to a decrease in viral RNA production and an increase in viral RNA degradation, which ultimately leads to a decrease in virus production. In human liver cells, 2-amino-4-ethoxypyridine inhibited the activity of the NS5B polymerase enzyme by 50%.
2-Amino-4-ethoxypyridine also prevents amination reactions from occurring with anions, such as cyanide or nitrosyl chloride.
