Product Information

Name:
N-(5-Azido-2-nitrobenzoyloxy)succinimide
Synonyms:
  • ANB-NOS5-Azido-2-nitrobenzoic acid N-hydroxysuccinimide ester
  • 1-[(5-Azido-2-nitrobenzoyl)oxy]-2,5-pyrrolidinedione
  • 2,5-Pyrrolidinedione, 1-((5-azido-2-nitrobenzoyl)oxy)-
Description:

N-(5-Azido-2-nitrobenzoyloxy)succinimide is an inhibitor of receptor molecules. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of prostate cancer cells and to have an inhibitory effect on rat liver microsomes. This agent is a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme polymerase chain reaction and blocks DNA synthesis. N-(5-Azido-2-nitrobenzoyloxy)succinimide can be used as a tracer for receptor molecules in order to study their function and location in vivo. The compound can also be used to generate antibodies against specific receptors, which can then be used to identify them by immunohistochemistry or electron microscopy.
