2-Acetyl-4-nitroindane-1,3-dione is a synthetic compound that is assembled in two steps from commercially available starting materials. The first step involves the assembly of the nitro group and acetyl group on the indane ring. The second step involves the oxidative cyclization of the nitro group to form the final product. The compound was monitored by UV absorption and HPLC analysis with a spermidine standard.
