Description

Acetylharpagide is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed to harpagoside, its active form. Acetylharpagide binds to the response elements on tumor cells and activates the transcription of pro-inflammatory factors. It also inhibits matrix metalloproteinases and has significant cytotoxicity against cancer cells in vitro. Acetylharpagide is used for the treatment of tumors, as it has shown antitumor activity in vivo.
