Alectinib is a drug that inhibits the activity of tyrosine kinases, including ALK, ROS1, and MET. It binds to ATP-binding sites in the active site of these enzymes and prevents them from transferring phosphate groups onto their substrates. Alectinib also inhibits the activity of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in vitro by binding to DNA. This drug has been shown to inhibit the growth of lymphoma cells in mice by inhibiting protein synthesis and inducing apoptosis. Alectinib also acts as a p-glycoprotein (Pgp) inhibitor, which may be due to its ability to inhibit an alkaline phosphatase.
