4-Aminotetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-carboxylic acid is a systemic drug that inhibits inflammation and causes hypotension. It is an antagonist of the b2 receptor and has been shown to have a dose-dependent effect on blood pressure. This drug can be used to inhibit the effects of bradykinin, which is a peptide that causes vasodilation, increased vascular permeability, and pain. 4-Aminotetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-carboxylic acid can be administered intranasally as well as intravenously or intraperitoneally. It can also be given intravenously or intraperitoneally for anesthetic purposes in animals that are being euthanized.
