Product Information

Name:
2-Amino-6-fluorobenzamide
Synonyms:
  • Benzamide, 2-amino-6-fluoro- (9CI)
Description:

2-Amino-6-fluorobenzamide is a cyclocondensation product that is produced by the reaction of an acid chloride with a lactam. It has been shown to be biodegradable and can be used as a component in the synthesis of quinazolinones. The intramolecular cyclocondensation reaction can also produce lactams, which are compounds that contain both an amide and lactam ring. 2-Amino-6-fluorobenzamide can be used to synthesize ethylene glycol from chlorides, acid chlorides, and ethanolamine. This molecule has been shown to react with nucleophiles such as hydroxide ion or ammonia to form a bond cleavage product.
2-Amino-6-fluorobenzamide also has the ability to react with aldehydes to form stable cyclic products.
