Product Information

Name:
2-Amino-4,4,4-trifluoro-butanoic acid
Synonyms:
  • 2-Amino-4,4,4-Trifluorobutanoic Acid Hydrochloride
Description:

2-Amino-4,4,4-trifluoro-butanoic acid is a fluorinated amino acid with a helical structure. The asymmetric synthesis of this compound was achieved by the chemoenzymatic transformation of L-2-amino-3,3,3-trifluoropropanoic acid using one molecule of 2-(N,N'-dimethylaminocarbonyl)benzimidazole and two molecules of glutamic acid as the starting materials. This synthetic process starts with the hydrolysis of L-2-amino-3,3,3-trifluoropropanoic acid to produce L-2-(carbonyl)aminobutanoic acid. The carbonyl group on the latter is then converted to an amide using N,N'-dimethylaminocarbonylbenzimidazole in an ATP dependent reaction. The
