1-Butoxy-2-propanol is an organic compound that belongs to the group of glycol ethers. It is a colorless liquid with a characteristic odor. The chemical name of 1-butoxy-2-propanol is n-dimethyl formamide, hydroxyl group, urine samples, glycol ether, chemical substances, aromatic hydrocarbon, sodium citrate, wastewater treatment, toxicity studies, viscosity, cross-linking agent and carcinogenic potential. 1-Butoxy-2-propanol is used as an additive in detergent compositions and as a viscosity modifier in paint remover and other solvents.
1 Butoxy 2 Propanol has been found to be toxic to rats and mice at high doses but not at low doses.
