Product Information
Axillarin is a sesquiterpene lactone that has been isolated from the roots of plants such as Alpinia officinarum, Curcuma zedoaria and Curcuma aromatica. It has been shown to have antioxidant properties. This compound has been shown to reduce the symptoms of radiation-induced fatigue, including sore throat, fever, and diarrhea. Axillarin also exhibits anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and by reducing damage to skin cells caused by UV irradiation. Axillarin may be useful in treating diabetic neuropathy due to its ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation and increase glucose uptake in peripheral nerve tissue.
