Description:3-Methyl-5-phenylcyclohex-2-en-1-one is an organic compound that belongs to the class of cyano compounds. A sodium ethoxide solution was used as an additive to promote nucleophilic attack on the carbonyl group in order to obtain ethyl acetoacetate.
