Product Information
Dihydrowithaferin A is a chemical compound with potent anti-inflammatory, anti-tuberculosis, and neuroprotective properties. It has been shown to have significant interactions with cytochromes P450 1A2 and 3A4. Dihydrowithaferin A is also a steroidal lactone that can be found in plants such as Withania somnifera, the Indian winter cherry, or ashwagandha. The biochemical activity of dihydrowithaferin A has been studied extensively in animal models and humans. This compound inhibits butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) activity by binding to the active site of the enzyme and blocking its catalytic function. It also inhibits human liver microsomal cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) and 3A4 activities in vitro.
