Product Information
3-Aminoquinolin-2(1H)-one is a synthetic compound. It has been prepared by condensation of 2-aminoacrylic acid with 1,3-diaminopropane. This reaction yields an imine that can be hydrolyzed to the corresponding amine. 3-Aminoquinolin-2(1H)-one has been used as an efficient method for the synthesis of hippuric acid and its isomers. The spectra of 3-aminoquinolin-2(1H)-one show three peaks at m/z=193, 182 and 144, which correspond to the molecular ion peak (m/z=193), the corresponding methylene peak (m/z=182) and the protonated amine peak (m/z=144). The mass spectrum shows two major peaks: one at m/z=193 and one at m/z=145. These peaks are due to fragmentation
