• Description: 4-(1-Butylpentyl)pyridine (BPP) is a complexing agent that is used to extract palladium and similar metals from their ores. It is typically used in conjunction with potassium dichromate, xylene, hydrochloric acid, carbon tetrachloride, magnesium, sodium citrate and n-oxide. BPP is also an extractant for organic compounds such as chloride, condensation products of chlorine or hydrogen chloride with ethyl acetate or chloroform. It is also a diluent for hydrogen peroxide.
