Product Information
Name:Bon acid
Synonyms:
- 3-Hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Bon acid is a fluorescent probe that can be used to detect protonated amines. The fluorescence spectra of the probe are sensitive to the pH, which shifts from blue to green as pH increases. The fluorescence intensity of the probe is also dependent on the polarity of the solvent and its concentration. The histochemical staining of human serum with this probe is useful for detecting nitrogen atoms in proteins. This probe has been used in vitro to study antifungal activity against Candida albicans and Trichophyton mentagrophytes. It has been shown that the hydroxyl group on the benzene ring plays an important role in determining its activity against fungi.
