4-tert-Butylcyclohexanecarboxylic acid is a monocarboxylic acid. It has been used as an analytical chemical for the estimation of naphthenic acids in petroleum oils. 4-tert-Butylcyclohexanecarboxylic acid has been identified as one of the major components of crude oil.
