Description

2-(5-But-3-yn-2-yloxy-4-chloro-2-fluoro-phenyl)-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroisoindole-1,3-dione (BZ) is a potent inhibitor of microbial growth. It inhibits the synthesis of fatty acids in bacteria and has been shown to be highly toxic to some fungi. BZ has also been shown to inhibit the growth of Vibrio cholerae, Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It also inhibits the activity of herbicidal and antimicrobial agents in plants.
