Description:
5-bromo-2,3-difluorophenol is an alkoxide with a bromine atom attached to one of the alkyl groups. This compound can be used as a brominating agent in organic synthesis and can be used to prepare diazonium salts. It also reacts with metal alkyls to produce high yields of diazomethane, which is a useful reagent for converting alcohols into nitriles. 5-bromo-2,3-difluorophenol can also be used as an alkali or alkaline agent in organic synthesis. In addition, this compound has been shown to react with benzene and ether in order to form other products.
