Description:

5-bromo-2,3-difluorophenol is an alkoxide with a bromine atom attached to one of the alkyl groups. This compound can be used as a brominating agent in organic synthesis and can be used to prepare diazonium salts. It also reacts with metal alkyls to produce high yields of diazomethane, which is a useful reagent for converting alcohols into nitriles. 5-bromo-2,3-difluorophenol can also be used as an alkali or alkaline agent in organic synthesis.
