Description

6-Bromo-2-naphthol is a hydroxylated aromatic compound that is used as a reagent in organic chemistry. It has shown to be an excellent substrate for the cavity test and can be used to detect the presence of a hydroxyl group in other molecules. The nmr spectra of 6-bromo-2-naphthol shows two peaks at 5.1 ppm and 7.5 ppm with a broad peak at 2.6 ppm, which is characteristic of 3-bromoquinoline.
