Description:BQ-788 is a drug with an antagonist activity at the endothelin receptor. It has been shown to have a physiological effect on humans, and it has been shown to inhibit the production of endothelin-1 in the rat ileum. BQ-788 was also found to inhibit cyclase activity in vitro and to increase cytosolic calcium levels. This drug has been shown to decrease blood pressure in rats, which may be due to its inhibition of angiotensin II receptors.
