• Description: Bz-D-Arg-pNA·HCl is a protease inhibitor that has been shown to inhibit the proteolytic activity of soybean trypsin. It also inhibits the enzyme activities of ester hydrolysis and polymerase chain reaction, as well as being reactive to other enzymes. Bz-D-Arg-pNA·HCl has been shown to be an analog of Bz-D-Arg-pNA, which is a proteolytic inhibitor of protein synthesis in vitro. This compound has been shown to have a pH optimum for activity at around pH 7.6 and exhibits protease activity in physiological conditions. The physiological function of this molecule is not yet known.
