This compound has been shown to inhibit the growth of Gram negative bacteria and atypical bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis. Bz-Phe-Val-Arg has also been shown to have immunomodulatory properties, which may be due to its ability to modify cellular immunity.
