4-(n-Boc amino) cyclohexanol is a neurotoxic compound that inhibits the activity of the brain enzyme phenytoin, which is involved in neuronal signal transmission. It also has pharmacological activity and can be used as an anticonvulsant, sedative, or muscle relaxant. This chemical was found to have an anticonvulsant effect on mice when it was administered before electroshock or amide. 4-(n-Boc amino) cyclohexanol also has a rotarod test that showed a maximal neurotoxic effect at 50mg/kg (i.e., it had no effect at 20mg/kg).
