Description:(1-Benzyl-1H-indol-3-yl)methanol (BZIL) is an indole derivative that inhibits the ubiquitin ligase activity of the E2 enzyme. This inhibition prevents the degradation of proteins, leading to cell death by apoptosis. BZIL has been shown to have synergistic anticancer effects with other anti-cancer drugs, such as cytarabine and cisplatin. It also has shown anti-cancer effects in tumor xenografts when used in combination with a homologous protein or molecule, such as p53 and trastuzumab.
