Description

4-Bromo-pyridine-2-carboxylic acid is a metabotropic glutamate receptor antagonist that inhibits the neurotransmitter glutamate. It has been shown to have antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and anti-inflammatory properties against the fungus Candida albicans. The drug is orally bioavailable, which means it can be taken by mouth, and has a pharmacokinetic profile that increases its bioavailability.
