Bis(4-octylphenyl)amine is a synthetic chemical that is produced from octylphenol and ammonia. It is used as an additive in lubricating oils, hydraulic fluids, and greases. Bis(4-octylphenyl)amine has been shown to be toxic to mammalian cells and has a viscosity of 1.1 cP at 25°C. It has three chemical structures: molybdenum, magnesium oxide, and methyl ethyl. It contains a hydroxyl group, tricycle, monocarboxylic acid, fatty acid, and oxidation products.
