Tert-Butyl 2-hydroxyacetate is a monomer that can be used for the synthesis of furopyridines. It is an enolate and reacts with guanine in the presence of catalysts, such as dicyclohexyl, to form an alkylating agent. The resulting product is then reacted with a second molecule of guanine to form the desired furopyridine. Tert-Butyl 2-hydroxyacetate can also be used in cross-coupling reactions mediated by palladium, which allow for the synthesis of polymers with high yields and trackability.
