Product Information
2-Bromo-6-methylbenzonitrile is a potent, selective, and orally active DPP-4 inhibitor. It was discovered by the Connect program of Johnson & Johnson in collaboration with Bristol-Myers Squibb. The compound has been shown to be effective in animal models of type 2 diabetes and has been shown to have a pharmacophore model that is similar to sitagliptin. 2-Bromo-6-methylbenzonitrile has also been shown to inhibit peptidase activity in vitro, which may contribute to its therapeutic effects.
