3-Bromopyridin-4-yl)methanol is a compound that has been studied for its inhibition of the enzyme imidazopyridine nucleotide phosphatase (IPNP). The inhibition activity was measured using fluorescence spectroscopy. It was found that 3-bromopyridin-4-yl)methanol had affinity for the IPNP enzyme and could be used as a research tool to study the role of this enzyme in the nervous system. 3-Bromopyridin-4-yl)methanol is acidic, which may explain its interaction with the nervous system.
