1,2-Dihydrobenzene (1,2-DH) is a molecule that has the chemical formula C6H6. It is a colorless liquid with boiling point of 147°C and melting point of -11°C. 1,2-DH has been shown to form hydrogen bonds with water molecules. This compound is also insoluble in water, which may be due to its dehydrating properties. When catalyzed by an acid or base, 1,2-DH undergoes dehydration reactions.
