Product Information
- Benzo[D]Thiazol-7-Amine
- 1,3-Benzothiazol-7-Amine
7-Benzothiazolamine is a heterocyclic compound that is used in the synthesis of diazo compounds, which are used in the production of dyes and pharmaceuticals. Diazotisation occurs when 7-benzothiazolamine reacts with nitrous acid to produce an intermediate, which can then be reacted with an inorganic base to form a second intermediate. The second intermediate can be oxidized by nitric acid to yield a third intermediate, which can then be reacted with ammonia or amines to yield the desired product. The reaction products fluoresce under UV light. This chemical has been shown to have affinity for cancer cells and is being studied as an anticancer agent. It has also been found that 7-benzothiazolamine can bind to adenosine receptors, and may serve as an excipient for drug delivery systems.
