Description:Bz-Leu-Leu is a mutant of the peptidase carboxypeptidase. It has been shown to have carboxypeptidase activity in biochemistry and immunology experiments, but not in structural gene experiments. Bz-Leu-Leu is an auxotrophic strain that cannot grow on leucine as a nitrogen source, but can grow on yeast extract as a nitrogen source. Bz-Leu-Leu has a structural gene sequence that is similar to the sequence of the wild type enzyme, but it lacks some amino acids at the end of the protein.
