- (3aS,4S,6aR)-Hexahydro-2-oxo-N-[6-[[1-oxo-3-(2-pyridinyldithio)propyl]amino]hexyl]-1H-thieno[3,4-d]imidazole-4-pentanamide
Biotin-hpdp is a reactive protein that can be used to detect the presence of glucose in blood. The reactive site on the molecule is monoclonal antibody, which binds to a sugar called biotin. Biotin-hpdp reacts with glucose and makes it easier for an enzyme called streptavidin to bind, causing a change in electrical properties. This reaction causes an increase in acidity, which can be measured by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
