Description:
4-Borono-D-phenylalanine is a chemical compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of brain tumor cells in rats. It is also able to cross the blood-brain barrier and enter the brain. 4-Borono-D-phenylalanine is administered as an injection, with uptake rates in the rat brain following an elimination half-life of 2 hours. Studies have shown that this drug can be eliminated from the body by both renal and hepatic pathways, with a blood plasma elimination rate of 0.2% per hour following intravenous administration.
