Product Information
2-Bromo-5-(trimethylsilyl)pyridine (2BPYR) is a pyridine derivative that has been used in the design of reaction devices for organic synthesis. 2BPYR is an efficient ligand for rhenium and its complexes have been used to study the interaction between metal ions and cyclic molecules. The photophysical properties of 2BPYR are enhanced by solvents that contain phenyl groups, such as nitrobenzene or acetonitrile. The voltammetry of 2BPYR on platinum electrodes in DMF-d7 shows two potential minima at -0.35 V and -0.65 V versus Ag/AgCl reference electrode with a redox potential of 1.09 V. This compound is also processable, which makes it an attractive candidate for use in chemical processes.
