Description:
2,4-Butanesultone is an alkali metal compound that has a chemical formula of CH3CH2SO3. It is used as an electrolyte in the production of silver, chemicals, and other products. 2,4-Butanesultone also has bifunctional properties and can be used as a genetic additive for Schizosaccharomyces. This compound is also often used as an additive to produce oxathiolanes and dithiolanes with five-membered rings. The most common alkali metals are sodium and potassium.
