Product Information
- BSPP4,4′-(Phenylphosphinidene)bis-benzenesulfonic acid potassium hydrate
Bis(p-sulfonatophenyl)phenylphosphine dihydrate dipotassium salt (BPPP) is a molecule that can be used for the detection of rRNA. It binds to nucleic acids, specifically to messenger RNA, and inhibits its translation into proteins. BPPP has been shown to inhibit the activity of methyltransferases and can be used as a tool in clinical studies examining the effector proteins and polymerase chain reaction. This compound has been found to be particularly sensitive in low light conditions and is an ideal candidate for use with silver ions for improved detection sensitivity. The application of this compound requires the use of plasma mass spectrometry analysis, which is currently being developed for use with test samples such as urine or plasma.
