This compound also has been shown to inhibit the formation of antibodies and reduce the symptoms of autoimmune diseases, such as arthritis or inflammatory bowel disease. 1-Bromoadamantane can be synthesized in three different ways: through a palladium-catalyzed coupling of a trifluoromethanesulfonic acid and an organic solution, hydrolysis of 1-bromoacetamide with hydrochloric acid, or by reacting acetamide with bromine in the presence of sodium hydroxide.
