• Description: 4-Benzoyl-4'-methyldiphenyl sulfide is a monomer that can be used as a photoinitiator in the polymerization of acrylate and methacrylate polymers. It has been used to seal and label polyethylene pipes with dibutyltin dilaurate. 4-Benzoyl-4'-methyldiphenyl sulfide is also an important reagent in the synthesis of 2-hydroxybenzophenone by reacting with benzophenone, 2-methylbenzophenone, or 3-methylbenzophenone.
