Description:
4-Benzyloxycyclohexanone is a chemical compound that can be used in the preparation of amides. It has been shown to have receptor binding properties, which may be due to its ability to bind to the benzodiazepine site on the GABA-A receptor. The compound also expands and stabilizes the C-terminal region of proteins, which is important for their function. 4-Benzyloxycyclohexanone has been used as a molecular modeling tool in designing new stereoselective synthetic routes. It was found that it could be used as an alkylation agent, with yields up to 90%. This compound can also be prepared by a chemo preparative method from cyclohexane ring with yields up to 70%.
