• Description: N,N'-Bis(3-pyridyl)urea is a compound consisting of an anion and a nitro group. N,N'-Bis(3-pyridyl)urea has been shown to bind to the DNA of carcinoma cells and inhibit their growth. It also binds to the DNA ligand-binding site of the enzyme topoisomerase II, which is involved in the process of transcription. N,N'-Bis(3-pyridyl)urea has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. The crystal structure of this compound has not yet been determined but it is postulated that it may exist as a conformational isomer.
