N-Boc-6-hydroxyhexylamine is a chaperone protein that has been shown to be able to bind to HSP90 and stabilize it. The size-exclusion chromatography technique has shown that the binding constant of 6-hydroxyhexylamine is constant, which means that the binding affinity is strong. The interactions between 6-hydroxyhexylamine and HSP90 have been found to be intramolecular hydrogen bonds. This drug has also been shown to have fluorescent properties, which are due to the presence of a primary alcohol group on the molecule. The nature of this compound makes it an ideal ligand for HSP90.
